After many years of plans to build a new community center, the building committee linked with the library to garner support for the combined Upton Community Center. The new wood-framed building includes the Town Library with structural timber framing, a senior center, commercial kitchen, study rooms, a children’s area, and a relocated and updated outdoor playground.
Hitting ledge during the foundation excavation caused a schedule delay, but our crews worked through the winter conditions and shifted timelines in order to deliver the project vastly under budget despite a prolonged schedule.
Through combined efforts of value engineering and unused built-in allowances, the town saved $120,443 compared to the original project contract
