PROJECT SUMMARY

The Concord Museum Addition and Renovation project was completed in two phases. Phase 1 involved the construction of the Rasmussen Education Center, which was designed to emulate a period barn and the tie-in of the addition to the existing museum building constructed in 1725.

The first floor includes period room displays with areas for educational interaction for school groups. The second floor is used exclusively for the storage of museum artifacts not in use and construction required state-of-the-art environmental controls and security for the priceless treasures. The third floor houses administrative offices.

Phase 2 of the project involved the renovations of the original museum building with the requirement that all renovations be completed with as little disruption as possible and be true to the original architecture.
