Monahan Manor
Nashua, NH
PROJECT SUMMARY
Monahan Manor, 216 multi-family units of which 206 are affordable housing units, replaced the former Bronstein Apartments, a 48-unit public housing development in downtown Nashua built in 1974.
We constructed four wood frame vinyl-sided buildings on concrete foundation frost walls with a slab on grade. Due to unstable urban fill, rammed aggregate piers were installed for the foundation supports. Interior unit finishes consisted of LVT flooring, sheet vinyl in the bathrooms, painted wood cabinets with granite counters and SS appliance. The existing natural gas was removed and all heating is done by efficient electric units.
Phasing allowed 79 units in Building A to be occupied while the other buildings were being completed and later on 82 in Building B giving the owner 161 units available of the 216 for move ins much prior to completion.
