PROJECT SUMMARY
Within a year of our successful completion of the Jeppesen Science Center at Berwick Academy, Hutter managed construction of the new 21,800 square foot library. The library is constructed on a site adjacent to the Science Center and in the center of a very active school campus accommodating grades K through 12.
As with any school project, the safety and challenges are a high priority. Hutter was able to coordinate materials deliveries around bus and sport schedules so that the school has had no disruption to their program.
The structure has a structural steel frame, slate shingle roof, cold-roll metal steel stud and in-filled framing of brick and precast veneer with aluminum storefront and curtain wall window framing systems.
The two story building has an elevator along with a partial basement and attic for storage and building systems. The fire suppression systems include dry pipe, wet pipe and chemical. The project also includes coordination for telephone, data, and cable communications. There is an extensive amount of millwork and high-end finishes throughout the facility.
Savings returned to the School were $70,311.
