PROJECT SUMMARY
This project involved the complete gutting of this five-story abandoned historic school building, which has masonry bearing walls with wood framed flooring. Since all the flooring had rotted, shoring the masonry interior walls during demo and reframing was a challenge.
New concrete footings were added for new masonry walls along with the patching and repairing of the concrete foundation and
repointing of existing masonry walls. The building also required all new windows and a new roof structure since the existing had
completely caved in.
All systems were gutted and new systems installed. The building now houses 39 one, two and three bedroom apartments as well
as common spaces
